William Whitney, parentage unknown, was born say 1780, in Pepperell, MA [according to son William's death record] and died 4 Mar 1813, Groton, MA.[1]

He married 5 Sep 1803, Groton, MA, Anna Lakin.[2] She was probably the Nancy Lakin, daughter of Robinson and Hepzibath (Lakin) Lakin, who was born 1 Apr 1786, Groton, MA, and died after 1870. She "Mrs." married secondly, 4 May 1817, Pepperell, MA, Peter Williams,[3] son of Richard and Sarah (Gilson) Williams. He was born 30 April 1773, Pepperell, MA, and died 19 May 1852, Hooksett, NH, aged 79 years, of dropsy, farmer.
