He married, 21 May 1854, NH, '''Orrilla S. Cross''', daughter of William and Eliza G. (Tandy) Cross. She was born about 1832, Franklin, NH, and died between 1890 and 1900.

He enlisted as a Private in Co. A, 5th New Hampshire Infantry, 12 Aug 1861, and was killed at the Second Battle of Fredericksburg, 3 May 1863. Posthumously he was promoted to Second Lieutenant, 1 Jun 1865.
